Life stories can be deeply personal. This notice describes the Founding Pilot as it is implemented now—not a future platform.
Who is responsible
LifeScribed is the controller of personal information collected for the Founding Pilot. Privacy, access, export and deletion requests can be sent to info@lifescribed.org. Business identity and postal-contact details should be added here before public launch.
What we collect
- Payment and registration details: email, preferred name, Stripe customer and payment/session references, payment status and joining date.
- Pilot choices: Memory Spark frequency, required service-email consent, and optional research/marketing consent.
- Optional onboarding information: age range and reason for joining.
- Memory material you choose to send, including message content, dates, prompt references, source and attachment metadata where applicable.
- Basic validation analytics: page and funnel events, broad source/UTM attribution, time and a pseudonymous abuse-prevention identifier. We do not need your raw IP address in the pilot database.
- Messages you send when requesting support, access, export, correction or deletion.
Why we use it
We use required registration, payment and memory data to enter into and deliver the 12-month pilot contract, keep pilot records, provide exports, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations. Optional research or marketing contact is based on separate consent and can be withdrawn at any time.
How and where it is processed
The site and pilot database are hosted using OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure. Stripe processes checkout and billing information. If configured for pilot service email, an email-delivery provider such as Resend processes names and email addresses. Providers may process information outside the UK under their own safeguards and contracts. LifeScribed does not receive or store full card details.
Retention
Pilot service records and contributed material are kept for the 12-month pilot, then for up to 90 days to prepare and resolve export or deletion requests. Limited transaction records may be kept longer where required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention or legal claims. Optional marketing details are kept until consent is withdrawn or they are no longer needed. This is not a promise of permanent or archival-grade storage.
Your choices and rights
You can ask for access, correction, an export, restriction or deletion, and can object where applicable. Some rights depend on the lawful basis and legal exceptions. You may withdraw optional consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
Memories about other people
Your memories may mention family, friends or other people. Please use judgement before sharing sensitive information about someone else. LifeScribed may need to restrict or remove third-party information when responding to a rights request.
Security and automated decisions
We use access controls, verified payment webhooks, data minimisation and operational safeguards appropriate to a small pilot. We do not claim end-to-end encryption, complete anonymisation or guaranteed future availability. We do not use your memories for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Changes
If the pilot’s processors or practices materially change, this notice will be updated and participants will be told where appropriate.
